We offer accessible gold plated stainless steel, gold PVD stainless steel, gold plated sterling silver, gold vermeil, and gold filled metal components that offer either several years or even a lifetime of quality enjoyment and beauty. To ensure maximum longevity and luster, we recommend the following best practices:

STORAGE TIPS

1) Keep each piece in the pouch or box they came in, if possible, rather than throwing them in with other pieces to avoid tangling, scratching, and oxidation. Keep them as dry as possible and away from excess humidity.

2) Avoid wearing your jewelry in sea water / chlorinated water, when sun tanning, exercising, bathing, sleeping, cooking, cleaning. Imagine if you were wearing an Hermes Birken bag while doing all the above. Who would, right?

HANDLING

1) How to handle our polymer clay pieces (varnished or unvarnished): a lot of our jewelry is made from cured polymer clay. Although the varnish provides added protection, please refrain from dropping it, knocking it against objects, or squishing it against something (for example, if you are wearing a clay necklace and carrying a child on your chest). Otherwise, the clay piece can be damaged.

2) How to handle our arm cuffs: when putting on one of our cuffs for the first time, go ahead and give it a gentle squeeze to achieve your preferred tightness. From then on, refrain from opening and closing them too much each time as it will weaken the metal, eventually causing it to break or become very deformed. Instead, for the cuffs, twist them sideways and slide on and off.

MAINTENANCE / UPKEEP ADVICE

1) Unvarnished Clay: to keep the clay looking brand new, use a teeny tiny amount of 100% clear acetone (nail polish remover) with a pure cotton swap or Q-tip to clean it.

2) Metals: cleaning metal jewelry is easy to do at home. Metal can also darken when not being worn. So either wear your jewelry all the time to keep it bright and shiny, or store in an airtight container when not being worn to minimize metal darkening. But if it does need cleaning, use a gentle polishing cloth to bring back its original luster and cleanliness. Always keep your jewelry as dry as possible. Simply rub the piece in one direction, wiping away any dirt and oil. Replace your polishing cloth after they are black on both sides.

Please note: mild oxidation of gold plated and gold filled jewelry over time is an entirely natural phenomenon. Oxidation is not considered a tarnish or flaw; use a jewelry cloth to clean as needed.

3) Pearls: basic care for pearls is "wipe after us please". Various stains such as sweat, make up, oils, and dust are attached to the pearl after use. If dirt is left as it is, the dirt will penetrate into the nacre and will eventually lead to deterioration. If not taken care of properly, pearls can become dull and discoloured. You can mix a solution of lukewarm water and mild dish soap, dip a new, soft cleaning cloth in it and wipe the pearls in one direction. Do NOT submerge a pearl necklace in water, as it will weaken the silk thread. Please do not use the same cloth for pearls that you use for polishing your metal jewelry.

IN CONCLUSION

Taking proper care of your jewelry will ensure they stand the test of time
